Keeping soapy suds at bay!
Dear mummy, you know how much I hate getting water in my eyes and ears, so we couldn’t believe our luck when we stumbled on this product on Amazon.
It’s by a company called Akord Technologies and classed as a shower cap. But it’s not really a shower cap as it allows you to wear it like a crown. It means you can wash a child’s hair without it dripping water onto their face and in their ears. Perfect for me!
It’s a really funny material and feels like sponge. It’s actually a soft super-elastic (EVA ROHS 2 Certified) material with 3-buttons to adjust the size to your babies and toddlers head. It’s non-toxic and comes in pink or blue.
Bath times can be really challenging for me, especially when it’s time to wash my mop. I hate putting my face and head in water and it makes me cry. So we decided to give this a try.
My folks have made hair washing a bit of a game now. I get to wear this hat and call myself the Mermaid Queen as it kinda looks like a giant seashell crown. So I pretend to be a mermaid in the bath, this eases my anxiety and distracts me while I play with Ariel the mermaid.
We’ve tested this waterproof ‘crown’ for weeks and it really does help. It’s made me much happier in the bath and keeps soapy suds and water off my face and down the sides. Instead of screaming the house down I now whimper a little and I’m not as scared.
It’s really light weight too and it buttons up with poppers on the side, it means we can adjust the positioning on my head. Some days I like it above my eyebrows other times right on the hairline. Because my scalp is exposed daddy can carry on washing my hair some days without me even noticing!!
It’s designed for a head circumference of 40cm or over. So I have it on the smallest setting still.Β It’s suitable from 1 month all the way up to 15 years. This makes it a great investment for bath times!
RRP is Β£19.99 but we’ve seen it cheaper on Amazon.Β It’s a perfect solution to a tricky problem, and it has helped me, but everything in baby steps…I’ve still got a long way to go before hair washing is enjoyable!
Love Bella x
I so, so wish I had been in possession of one of these last night! My boys, despite swimming underwater, have huge issues about bubbles in their face…. I’m off to seek one out!
What a great idea….When my girls were younger they hated having their hair washed. This would have came in really handy x
I’m glad I’m not the only one who dislikes hair washing!! π phew! It’s a great little product!
Ok this is such a great bath hat, I have not seen something like that before and would have been awesome when my nephew was younger.
This looks brilliant! Lovely colour too. Freddie is still practically bold lol so he’s never had a hair wash! x
Oh I can imagine that this would come in so handy. Boo really doesn’t like getting her hair washed
I NEED one of these. I mean, Luke HATES getting his hair washed and gets very, very angry if ANY water touches his face (which of course makes washing his face difficult too!). Ray xx #triedtested
That’s awesome…I’m glad this product can help you! It has worked wonders for me!
I love this idea. Both of mine love a bath and are fine with having their hair washed but I’m always up for anything that will make my life easier. Actually I have no idea why this wasn’t invented years ago, it’s so simple!x
I wish I’d had something like this when my daughter was little. She used to hate having her hair washed x
This looks so cute. We used something similar, but it didn’t have the frilly bits.
what is it about kids getting their hair wet? I do remember the drama though, great idea #KCACOLS
This looks fantastic and like something we could do with for my daughter as Sylvia hates getting water in her eyes or face. Thanks for sharing a fantastic product. Angela #KCAKOLS
Thanks Angela, yes a really good product!
Well this looks like a great little piece of kit!
Nice review.

Thanks Ellie!
These are fab – and they look really cute too. I picked one up on ebay before Marianna was born (pretty much all my baby supplies were of the 99p with free shipping from Hong Kong variety, lol) but we’ve never actually used it. She’d be face first in the water if we let her! x #KCACOLS
Amazing!!Leo screams the house down when I was his hair, I think that old ‘no tears’ claim is a load of rubbish. Leo is always telling me he’s a princess (!) So I’m sure he’d love this. Bella looks so cute in her seashell crown xx #kcacols
I could have done with this 10 years ago! It looks like it’s working. #KCACOLS
She looks so miserable in the first photo but she was as happy as Larry towards the end of the post. I really like this idea. My boy was scared of bathing at one point because of the soapy water might get into his eyes. Took a lot of persuasion but I think this little hat should do the trick. Thank you for sharing with #FabFridayPost
We had a similar one when my girls were younger. What a lifesaver! They kept bath times happy and tear free when it came to hair washing π #KCACOLS
This is exactly what I need! Washing his hair is not getting any easier despite him getting older. Thanks for this post #KCACOLS
Glad we could be of service!
Definitely going to invest in one of these, it will make shower time so much easier! #KCACOLS
These are such a great idea – unfortunately they didn’t work for me. My sons went mental when I event atttempted to put something similar onto their heads!!
Thanks so much for linking up to #KCACOLS and I hope to see you back again on Sunday x
Thanks for having us! π
This sounds amazing!! I still have a 5 year old that hate having water in her eyes! So weird!! She asks constantly for a towel to dry her eyes every time she get them wet!! It is crazy!! I would definitely try this. I hope it helps!! And the funny thing is that my little one who is just 17 months is a fish in the water!! Thanks so much for sharing this at #KCACOLS. I would love to see you again on Sunday! π x
Thanks! It’s a great product! π
