We took a trip to Mayflower Theatre to see Winnie the Pooh: the New Musical Stage Adaptation and thoroughly enjoyed it! @mayflower_theatre
The beloved “silly old bear” Winnie the Pooh has delighted children for generations and we were lucky enough to see the story come to life on stage! @winniethepoohshowuk
We were transported to The Hundred Acre Wood during a 60 minute performance. As Winnie the Pooh and his friends all braved the seasons in a heartwarming puppetry tale. I loved listening to the characters witty, funny and sometimes bittersweet lines about friendship, love, growing up — and of course, honey!
I attended the press night and had a wonder time, we were treated to a lovely feast, perfect for any Pooh, Tigger, Piglet or Eeyore! Kindly supplied by Behave & Graze.
Created by British author A.A. Milne in the 1920s, Winnie the Pooh is based around his his son, Christopher Robin and his stuffed animals—Winnie the Pooh and friends Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo and Tigger—and their country home in England’s Ashdown Forest. It’s such a lovely set of stories.
It worked really well on stage. The sounds of crickets chirping and birds cheeping in the theatre added to the atmosphere. The voices were spectacular and just like the characters from Disney. It was such a nostalgic show and one that we both enjoyed. Afterwards we got to meet the very talented cast of puppeteers and performers with their puppets!
We’d definitely recommend seeing this on tour, it’s such an amazing show and makes a great first time theatre experience for little ones, due the short performance time.
I was enthralled from start to finish and bounced out of the theatre! It was Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun!
