Dear mummy, our favourite season is here and we’re happily stocking up on candles and cuddling up on the sofa watching spooky films. Our front room is decked with Halloween and Autumnal decorations from pumpkin garlands to orange and black glassware.

We’re always on the lookout for fun and interesting items at this time of year and couldn’t believe that we hadn’t discovered this Wicked Wicker Halloween Hamper from Fortnum & Mason sooner. My mummy was drawn to the funky black hamper and the famous F&M emblem which is recognised around the world. Fortnum & Mason is an upmarket department store in Piccadilly, London. Founded as a grocery store, Fortnum’s reputation was built on supplying quality food, and saw rapid growth throughout the Victorian era. Nowadays it is famed for its loose-leaf tea and its world-renowned luxury picnic hampers, which the store first distributed to Victorian High Society for events such as the Henley Regatta and Ascot Races. These hampers – which contain luxury items remain popular today, especially at Christmas time, and can cost from £55 to £1000.

Watch us lift the lid on this frighteningly good Halloween hamper and see what’s inside…was it a trick? Or a treat?

Fortnum & Mason is known for its spectacular hampers so to be able to afford one for Halloween was a lovely treat. We choose the cheapest hamper from the website, a black hamper filled with scary sweets and treats for my family. So what’s inside…

Fortnum’s Cinnamon Spice Fine Biscuits

Fortnum’s Cinnamon Spice Fine Biscuits, 70g – £6.95

My mummy was looking forward to our first treat from of the hamper. Light, spiced and aromatic biscuits created in a small artisan bakery exclusive to Fortnum’s. Marbled with cinnamon, they’re the perfect companion to frothy coffee or just-brewed tea.

Halloween Pumpkin Praline Stick Pack

Pumpkins are great for carving, but at Fortnum’s they’re great for snacking too. These carve-free pumpkin shaped chocolates are enchantingly filled with milk chocolate and hazelnut praline filling. A superb pairing for pumpkin carving occasions. We can’t wait to munch on these as we carve ours over half term.

Pumpkin-Spiced Truffles

One for the adults these indulgent Pumpkin-Spiced Truffles, are made with real pumpkin puree and traditional spices, creating a Halloween treat that’s warming and delightful. My favourite Halloween treat out of the hamper, Fortnum’s light and fluffy marshmallows are made in small batches and flavoured with exquisite vanilla. Neatly packaged in an elegant bag, this makes for the perfect Halloween gift. They are sugared and have a lovely chewy texture and we love the detail on them. Very moreish.

These fine, creamy milk chocolates are the perfect size for my rucksack and they are beautifully wrapped in gold foil with cute Halloween designs. They are great for Halloween trick-or-treating and for lunch boxes leading up to the day.

Even though we munched through a lot of the treats while doing your YouTube video we’re saving the rest for Halloween to have a spooky feast. The black hamper is going to be used every Halloween and were going to fill it with goodies. It makes the nice keepsake and great for storing our Halloween decorations during the year. £60 may seem like a lot of money but you definitely get what you pay for the hamper alone would be worth £20 plus, especially for a themed one which is unusual. It’s a great size at 24.5cm (D) x 34cm (W) x 20.5cm (H) and we can see us enjoying it long after the chocolate has gone.

What’s your favourite Halloween treat?

Love Bella x
