My First Trip to Brighton

Wednesday, June 5, 2013.

BrightonDear mummy, today’s the day we go to the seaside! It’s a blistering hot day and the sun is shining. We decide to embark on our epic journey to the coast. 2 hours later, driving through midweek traffic, we arrive at our destination. We park in a handy carpark behind the Grand Hotel on the promenade. My little friends have joined me today, Evie and Charlotte and their mummies.

We seek shade in a cafe down on the shingle beach and enjoy eating fish and chips and watching the world go by. Mummy feels a bit worried about having to breastfeed in public, but all the other mummies are doing it, so it’s safety in numbers.

Brighton PierAfter lunch we walk along the pier, and look out to the sea watching the waves crash along the beach. We go to the flashy light place which is called the arcades and I’m mesmerised by all the sounds and bright colours…this is heaven!! Mummy pushes me up to the fun fair area of the pier and we stop and watch the carousel, I can’t wait till I’m big enough to go on this ride 🙂

Brighton BeachA quick nappy change later in the loos and we’re back off down the pier, it’s getting late and I’m tired, but all this bright sunshine is making it hard for me to sleep. We decide to call it a day and snooze on the way home in the car. I’m a bit grumpy as we hit some traffic, but mummy opens the window to let some air in and I slowly drift off again. A long old day, but a great experience! I will be back Brighton!
