Budding gardeners!
Dear Mummy, a couple of weeks back we planted some seeds in pots and have been watching their progress everyday since…and we’re amazed at the results so far.
See my mummy is a plant killer. She’s not green fingered at all! So imagine our delight as these little seedlings started to sprout in their little pots and resemble plants! Woweee mummy! Good job! Well it does help to talk to them too. You see every evening, just before my bedtime, I stand on the sofa and lean over to the window sill and chatter to them. They never answer back though, so the conversation is always one-sided!
Here’s some photo’s of me planting them 4 weeks ago and how they are coming on now. We planted Sunflowers and Sweet Pea, some of our favourite flowers. The Sweet Pea are scented too! My mummy remembers having Sweet Pea in her childhood garden all those years back, she remembers smelling them and looking at all the different colours and varieties.
These are the sort of memories she’d like me to have too. So once they are big and strong we are going to plant them in our garden. Some in flower beds and others in pots. If you have any tips to help our Sweet Pea and Sunflowers to grow then please let us know, as we’re no budding gardeners (excuse the pun!)
Stay posted for our next update of ‘Seed Watch’ in a couple of months. Eek. I hope my mummy doesn’t kill them before then.
Love Bella x
How exciting to see your little seeds growing, lovely memories (and well done mummy for not killing them!) x
Lovely post…I dont have a garden but I hope one day I will and I hope I grow green fingers 🌴🌷💚 x
I do love seeing seeds grow, and my daughter loves watching out for them, too. She’s got her own little patch of garden now that we sowed some seeds in last week, so she’s keen to see some activity!
we love plantings seeds it is so therapeutic and fantastic to watch them grow. we have strawberry plants this year and my lil boy cant wait to pick his own fruit! #LetKidsBeKids
We’re not very good at making things grow! So this is great for us..baby steps!
Well done, they are growing well….it must be all the nice conversations! Love it!
Thanks for linking #LetKidsBeKids
It must have been so much fun for her to see them grow! I’m not great with gardening either 🙂
What a cute idea! I think I need to plant some seeds with my little ones soon as soon as it stops snowing. We have a small herb garden and I want to buy a tomato plant but like you I have a black thumb and seem to kill every plant I touch – possibly because I forget to water them… then over water them. Hmm oh well will give it a try thanks for the inspiration. #letkidsbekids
We also quickly murder any plant which crosses our threshold and requires any care. We inevitably alternate dehydration and drowning as we forget and then try to make up for it.
I love you tot’s rain jacket! Do they make it an adult’s medium??
#twinklytuesday
My little jacket was picked up at a nearly new sale for a fiver and it’s by Brights & Stripes….who I think, no longer exist sadly 😦 Keep posted on Seed Watch!
Bargain. That’s a shame, it’s great.
We are trying to get more active out in our garden this year as well. Our sunflowers are coming along great and I can t wait to buy some sweet pea plants again. We had some last year and you can go on cutting them all summer long and they smell amazing! I ve had to ban my own little Bella from watering though as she s been drowning everything!
Lovely memories, we have a little tradition of growing sunflowers and seeing who can grown the tallest x #twinkleytuesday
Loving your blog, such an imaginative concept! I am also a plant killer but we try every year 🙂 shall follow this with interest and maybe share pictures of living plants myself!!
