Summer is in the air!

Dear Mummy, we’ve been basking in the sun this week and nursing summer colds. With a change in the temperature our noses are running, eyes are itching and sore throats are back, but that hasn’t stopped us enjoying the warm sunshine.

Oxfam Dressed By The Kids Day

My mummy was chuffed to be featured in Oxfam’s round-up of their #DressedByTheKids day. Where she raised over £70 for the charity! I had to dress her for the day and she attended work as a fluffy unicorn fairy! She squirmed for 8 hours with colleagues gawping at her in the corridors and canteen areas. One colleague even thought she was dressed normally! – she’s a graphic designer and tends to be a bit eccentric!

Hinton Ampner

A lovely little jaunt to Hinton Ampner revealed beautiful spring/summer flowers in bloom. And we had fun walking around this National Trust Estate. I had my little friends with me and we went on a grand adventure to visit the secret palace, climb fallen tree trunks and visit the imaginary Wizard and his missing owl. We even followed the white feathers up to the main house after trekking around the grounds.

Camp Bestival

We briefly stopped by the last Camp Bestival pre-festival tour at Southampton City Art Gallery, in the Civic Centre buildings to get into the spirit of things and I enjoyed some crafting where I made some space glasses. We jammed with a musician on the mic and indulged in some ribbon twirling, sadly missing the shadow puppets and mobile plantereruim.

Planting Seeds

A spot of gardening also made for great fun! And I ‘digged out’ our tuff spot, while my mummy battled with spiders in the shed to get her garden tools. Meanwhile daddy was having fun pulling wiggly worms out of the bag of compost! We planted SweetPea, ForgetMeNots and Wildflowers.

Micheldever Bluebells

My mummy visited the bluebells in Micheldever Woods on her way home from work on a bright evening to take piccys. We’d been before and discovered this hidden gem on the back road from Winchester to Basingstoke. It’s home to some of the most spectacular bluebells we’ve ever seen!

Rapeseed

All in all a great week! I’m sure you’d agree that the sunshine is a welcomed relief from the cold snap and more what we’re used to at this time of year!

Have a good week all….and remember the sunscreen ….oh and the umbrellas for the thunderstorms!

Love Bella x
