Doc McStuffins Toy Hospital Role-Play Set Review

Dear Mummy, the Doc is in! You know how much I love Doc McStuffins and I have been watching this kids cartoon for the past year on Disney Jrn. I’m fascinated that she can talk to her toys and make them feel better. I have imaginary friends too, so am watching the show to pick up some tips.

Doc McStuffins Toy Hospital Role-Play Set Review

If you haven’t heard of Doc McStuffins then where have you been?!? Its only one of the most popular preschool cartoons on telly at the moment. Dottie ‘Doc’ McStuffins, is a six-year-old girl who ‘fixes’ toys with a little help from her stuffed animal friends, Stuffy, Hallie, Lambie and Chilly. Whats new is that in 2016, Doc is transported with the aid of her Grandma to McStuffinsville (instead of staying at home) to become the Chief Resident of the Toy Hospital, where she and her friends help toys from all over the world! She’s such a strong role model for kids, actively encourage others to look out for each other, being kind and generous and my mummy is happy with me watching the show.

Being such a big fan we jumped at the chance to review this set, having previously owned the older version of this and we were impressed with the new hospital additions like the name badge ID clip. It’s suitable for ages 3+ and Smyths Toy Store also do lots of other supporting play sets and toys from the Doc McStuffins range…guess where Santa is heading this Christmas!

It came in a big bright box with all the characters on and we waited to open the box until the UK air of the new show was on to maximise excitement levels. There’s nothing better than kids dressing up as their heroes. I loved how the set matched the TV programme and I was very excited to put in on. The attention to detail is amazing and the printed pockets with doctors equipment on was genius, the pink trim and the sparkly pink heart buttons were adorable too.

The kit includes Doc’s white doctors coat, a stripy purple shirt, a name badge that clips onto the pocket, a purple and pink sparkly headband and a play stethoscope with the all new plaster emblem from the Toy Hospital show. The dressing up clothes measures from 110cm – 125cm which is perfect for 4-6 year olds, I am 3 1/2 and it fits me great.

After the show finished I spent over an hour tending to my soft toys pretending to nurse them better and carry out operations on them, by wearing this dress-up set it actively encouraged my role playing and helped my imagination flourish and the TV show go further.

Now every time Doc McStuffins comes on, I’m putting on the white coat and shouting “The Doc is in” – it makes my mummy chuckle. A lovely play set from Flair and a great addition to our dressing up box.

Love Bella xx

  1. Gosh, this takes me back! My daughter used to absolutely love Doc McStuffins when she was younger and I know she would have loved this if she was still in that age range. It sounds like such a brilliant little play set x
