Dear Mummy, we got the chance to review some of The Very Hungry Caterpillar products this week and loved one item in particular – The Very Hungry Caterpillar Nature Walk Scrapbook. It’s by The World of Eric Carle, the graphic illustrator behind the book. This scrapbook is one of many products available. Inspired by Eric Carle’s vibrant artwork, lifted from the pages of his bestselling book The Very Hungry Caterpillar it uses some of familiar drawings which us kids instantly recognise.
We used this scrapbook on one of our adventures to our local playpark and it made our autumn walk much more fun! We loved looking at the trees and collecting leaves from the footpath, inspected creatures and flowers prompted by instructions from the book.
The scrapbook is undersized A4 landscape with 36 pages and is soft backed, so perfect to fit in a backpack to take on all our trips. Each page has a different design and task on it to complete.
There are plenty of activities on its pages, from colouring in, fun fact finding, counting and memory making.
We also like that it contains 70 stickers with a lovely narrative throughout. The bright coloured pages with beautiful graphic illustrations are eye-catching and engaging using the same characters from the book.
It doubles up as a really lovely keepsake too and my mummy is going to treasure it forever, as my little scribbles adorn the pages. My first scribble of my name, some drawings of leaves and acorns and stickmen. This would make a great Autumn present to encourage us kids to get outdoors and learn more about nature and the world around them.
Keep your eyes pealed for more of The World of Eric Carle products and toys on the blog as we’ll be showcasing the rest of the range very soon! The Very Hungry Caterpillar Nature Walk Scrapbook is around £7.99 and you can find it on Amazon and in all good bookstores.
Love Bella xx
