Paultons Park Spooky Halloween

Dear Mummy, we’re so lucky we live on the doorstep of this fantastic theme park in Hampshire. Paultons Park is located in the village of Ower, just outside Southampton, in Hampshire, UK. The theme park has 60 rides and attractions and is set over 140 acres of land and also features a collection of around 80 species of birds and animals. It is also home to the world-famous Peppa Pig World. My mummy used to remember going to Paultons as a child, so loves that she can continue this family tradition. There are rides suitable for all the family, from children’s rides, soft play, family rides – way up to the scary rollercoasters and adult rides. We’re also loving the new addition to the theme park called The Lost World too, a new dinosaur adventure land which opened this year, however that wasn’t the reason we visited this week…..

Oh no, not at all…..mwhahahahahaaaaaaaa!

Something spooky is occurring in the park, strange characters are roaming the rides and everything is decorated in autumnal decorations and spooky pumpkins. We went for their spooktackular Halloween event.

Paultons Park looks stunning at this time of year, all the trees on the site have turned a lovely shade of red and the grounds are beautiful. We’ve never seen so many pumpkins and spooky props dotted around and love all the photo opportunities. It really gets you in the mood for Halloween.

We enjoyed the Spooky Meet & Greets with their popular characters throughout the day. And they weren’t hard to track down as they were walking around the park and near the show stage. We spotted a pumpkin guy as soon as we walked through the doors, a couple of witches and a scarecrow and loved how they had immersed themselves in the theme. They all came across really friendly and welcomed us for photos.

However the best bit for us over the Paultons Halloween event was the The Little Monsters Ball at the show stage. Where a theatre show with choreographed moves was performed for 20 minutes and then we had the opportunity to dance and hang out with the cast. We enjoyed the Halloween playlist which raged from Ghostbusters to Micheal Jackson’s Thriller (with awesome dance moves). There was plenty of show times too throughout the day with 12,30pm, 2pm and 4pm performances. It was like one massive Halloween party!

I entered the Freaky Fancy Dress Competition and got to go up on stage in front of everyone (no stage fright for me!) The Judging took place at 3pm for under 4 years and 3.30pm for over 4 years. Both my mummy and I dressed up as witches and played games walking around the park casting spells on each other….and hexing the plastic animals in Critter Creek, another area of the park 😉

It was great to be interviewed by the scary scarecrow and I gave my best witches cackle and danced on the stage strutting my best moves for a prize. I won some chocolate for entering which was a lovely token from Paultons Park. All entries got a little prize.

I liked browsing the shop on the way out and we purchased some really reasonable Halloween goods for my Halloween Party! The Halloween event at Paultons Park runs until Monday 31st so make sure you pop down to see how beautiful all the decorations are and see the costumed characters.

We had a wonderful day and spent over 6 hours at the park. We went on lots of rides when we weren’t enjoying the Halloween inspired activities and it was a really good experience to add to our memory bank. So much so, that we just had to write about our fantastic experience. Thanks Paultons. We’re season holders so we will definitely be back and can’t wait until Christmas at Paultons Park (if it’s anything like what we witnessed at Halloween it’s going to be magical). Have you been to any Halloween events this year? We’d love to hear about them!

Love Bella x
