Easter at Weymouth SEA LIFE

Dear Mummy, the Easter holidays are nearly here! With so many fab activities and events happening for children over the Easter break we can’t wait to explore the best of them. One adventure that has really caught my eye is the Octonauts: Shark Mission at Weymouth SEA LIFE. They are recruiting young ocean explorers to take part in an all-new, deep-sea adventure this Easter and the event runs from Friday, March 30 until Sunday, April 15.

We can’t wait to join Captain Barnacles, Peso, Dash, Shellington, Professor Inkling, Tweak, Kwazii and Tunip in a thrilling quest to uncover the secrets of the ocean’s most jaw-some predators. I hope I’m not too scared as I come face-to-fin with Weymouth SEA LIFE’s fascinating family of resident sharks – from guitar sharks to black-tip reef sharks. Hopefully Shellington and his Octonauts friends will put my mind at ease, as I can meet them in person at the event and capture a treasured memento at the Octonauts photo area.

It will be awesome to help the Octonauts crew solve the mind-bending puzzles of the mystery tanks and find out which sharks can live to be 400 years old, which sharks can smell a single drop of blood in an Olympic size swimming pool and why some sharks have skin as rough as sandpaper. I’m a massive fan of crafting and would love to follow instructions from Captain Barnacles to make shark puppets and receive a personalised certificate signed by Captain Barnacles to take home, as well as a Shark Mission pop badge after completing the marine expedition. Sounds like a lot of fun and an education trip.

With plenty on offer for older kids too like exploring sunken cities, looming shipwrecks and mystical underwater caves brimming with weird but wonderful creatures, from octopuses and turtles to stingrays and starfish. There really is something for all the family this Easter! It would make a great rainy day activity, but fingers crossed for a little bit of sunshine this Easter break as we’d love to visit Caribbean Cove, their new outdoor play area.

What are you up to this Easter?

Love Bella x
