NozStock The Hidden Valley Festival

Dear Mummy, we are super stoked to be invited to NozStock this year to help them celebrate their 20th Anniversary. We’ve never been to this West Midlands festival but have heard great things about it.

We’re big festival goers and my folks are always on the look out for family festivals that tick all the right boxes for everyone. The big draw for my folks is the musical line-up at NozStock this year.

NozStock Festival 2018 Music Line-Up

Headlining is Chase & Status and my folks saw them years back on their No More Idols Tour. Goldfrapp got my mummy though her uni days and we can’t wait to dance our socks off to Dub Pistols, Randall and Grandmaster Flash. NozStock looks fantastic for showcasing homegrown talent, national newcomers and more established acts and we can’t wait to discover some new music.

But this isn’t just about my folks, it’s about the whole family! I can’t wait to immerse myself in the NozStock Little Wonderland Kids Area led by the Spare Room Arts Crew. Learning a new skill and crafting a momento, disco dancing and meeting new friends, NozStock is more than a music festival!

Here’s what I’m looking forward to:

  • Grooving at Pimp Souls dance workshop
  • Showing my mummy how it’s done at Yoga
  • Behind The Scenes Storytelling sessions
  • Being a Disco Queen at the Mini Disco – Yas!
  • Transforming myself with Face-painting
  • Decorating Costumes and wellies for added bling
  • Headdress and Mask workshops
  • 90’s nostalgic tie-dying classes
  • Willow weaving and felt creations
  • Instrument-making and playing with clay
  • Making bunting, kites and puppeteering
  • Discovering the new soft-play area with paddling pools and sandpits.

As well as all this, the Nozstock arena is pretty much a little one’s dream, with captivating walkabout theatre, cinema and interactive artworks, not to mention the music. Phew! That’s a lot of attractions for the whole family. Don’t take my word for it though, pop over and have a look at their website.

We get the feeling that the NozStock crew understand the realities of bringing little ‘uns to a festival with their own families joining in the shenanigans. With provisions for small ones, like bottle warming, changing areas and even a bedtime story, it reassuring for the big folk.

With a dedicated family camping area, far away from the music but close to the kids area, we’re all looking forward to getting some decent shut-eye…well that’s if I can prise my folks away from the dance floor, I have the feeling there’s going to be a couple of late nights! I even get a special wristband for the lost kids area in case I rave too hard and get lost.

What’s nice is that Family Camping is strictly stewarded so only families with children can camp there, and with it’s own dedicated entrance to the Dingle – home of the Little Wonderland. The Family Camping area comes complete with nearby food traders, showers, entertainment and games for the kids while you’re setting up camp. Nozstock also works hard to give something back to the local community and is waging a war on plastic at the festival. They also support national charities such as Oxfam and Trees for Cities and we can’t wait to get involved!

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Nozstock – the Hidden Valley festival. Based in Bromyard, Herefordshire and it takes place from 20th to 22nd July. It must be doing something right if it’s been around for 20years! Tickets are still available on the NozStock website and guess what? Kids under 12 go FREE! Amazeballs. We hope to see some of you there!

Love Bella x (oh and her folks who are ridiculously excited to get their rave on)

Disclosure: We’ve been invited to attend NozStock this year, all excitement and anticipation is our own.
