Dear Mummy, I’m a massive fan of CBeebies and one of my favourite shows is Kate & Mim-Mim. So imagine my delight at getting a new Kate & Mim-Mim toy through to review. Look at the joy on my face! I was eager to get him out of the box and play with him on a recent camping trip.

If you haven’t heard of Kate & Mim-Mim its a cartoon about a little 5-year-old girl called Kate with a big imagination. It follows her adventures with her stuffed toy bunny called Mim-Mim as they travel to the fantasy world of Mimiloo, where Mim-Mim transforms into a larger than life playmate! Mim.

I’ve got a big imagination too and my folks are fascinated by my make-believe, so I’m the perfect age to play with this Magic Twirl Mim-Mim Plush Toy. Suitable for ages 3 and above this soft plush toy comes to life when you twirl around with him. I had fun swinging him around and holding his hands, chatting to him and making him talk back.Flair Toys have introduced lots of collectible figures and dolls based on the characters from Kate & Mim-Mim. This is the first one we’ve seen and they are now out on public release and retail at £29.99. You can find them in good toy retailers and online. I can’t wait to go on my own adventures with Mim-Mim, just like Kate does in the cartoon. I had fun holding Mim-Mim’s hands triggering him to sing his fantastic Mimiloo song! It was very clear and not distorted with good sound quality. I could also press his belly to hear one of seven phrases he says from the TV show.

Phrases include “Look at me, I’m super Mim!”, “Jumping Jellybeans!”, ” Hugs always make me Happy”, “I’m so happy!”, “Yay!”, “Wowee Wow!”, ” I Love being purple”, and Mim-Mim’s chant “Kate & Mim-Mim me and you, lets twirl away to Mimiloo!”  

I had great fun taking my Mim-Mim to a recent festival and we had an awesome adventure together.

His packaging was bright and colourful, with full instructions which my folks read. The battery case is inside Mim-Mims back but it can be a pain to tuck it back inside once out, luckily he already had batteries. We couldn’t spot an ‘on-off’ button, but I actually didn’t need it as he’s not that sensitive and doesn’t seem to randomly go off *phew*. We like that his ears were bendy and my parents could hook him onto their rucksack. With a colour as bright as this though he would be hard to lose!

My Mim-Mim was super soft and cuddly. I napped with him and took him to bed with me in my camp bed. My mummy liked his vivid colour purple we had loads of lovely comments from passerbys and children who were ecstatic to see him! He had a great resemblance to the cartoon and I loved his happy face. He was a great size too for a plush toy and sat upright unaided so I could have a tea party with him and he could watch the festival in my little seat. We were inseparable the whole weekend, which is a good sign!

He had plenty of features and was fully loaded tech-wise making him a great toy to help promote active role-playing and help my imagination take flight.

He’s a really super toy, maybe a bit expensive for some, but for a life-long playmate (well until I outgrow him) we could justify the cost. I can’t wait to have many more adventures with Mim-Mim over the summer holidays, I think we’re going to be firm friends.
