Ahoy me hearties and welcome aboard! We’ve had a fun-filled weekend celebrating my 4th Birthday. I had a Jake and the Never Land Pirates Party with Captain Hook and I was Tinkerbell. My folks love organising parties and they have really missed their calling when it comes to party planning!
The whole family got involved with baking goodies and making table decorations for the party. And the pirate theme was perfect for adults and children alike. We had a fab local DJ called Ed from True Beats Entertainment who played wonderful party music and provided fun games and entertainment for the kids. It made a change from the typical princess parties that little girls seem to have these days. My folks scoured Pinterest for ideas and party suppliers for table settings and we were pleasantly surprised at the wealth of pirate decorations available online. Watch our video to see how we decorated!
My mummy made Rice Krispie Pirate Treasure Chests and decorated them with drizzled chocolate and put a gold chocolate coin inside. A nice easy trick is to cut up Rice Krispie Squares if you don’t have time to make them yourself.
My Grandma made Pirate Jelly using a mixture of blue food colouring and pineapple/lemon jelly. Once set she garnished it with an orange segment and a cocktail stick with a pirate flag. You can also buy blue jelly in packs off Amazon which would save the hassle trying to make sea coloured jelly!
The piece de la resistance was our Hummus desert island. We used a polystyrene dome and covered it in tin foil and cut a hole in it. We then inserted a carrot for the palm tree trunk. We covered the base with hummus and decorated the palm tree with a green pepper for the leaves. My mummy bought a cutlass cutter off Amazon and cut up cute looking cucumber with carrot sticks as driftwood for the base of the island.
My mummy had fun carving a watermelon and making a Galleon Pirate ship. Just a little note though it can get super messy! She filled it with fresh strawberries.
Here’s our top picks from Pinterest on our pirate themed board.
I had a fab time at my party and hope this provides you guys with some great inspiration for future pirate parties.
