Dear Mummy, attention please! I’m being the teacher today and playing with my new favourite toy. It’s called a Pretend & Play School Set which we’ve been sent to review from Learning Resources.
The school set is advertised for children aged 3+ and is perfect for preschoolers by getting them excited about starting school and building their confidence. It’s the ultimate school pretend role play set with 142 pieces included inside the box. It includes a tri-fold school backdrop carry case with little pouches that contain activity sheets, reward stickers, certificates, charts and maps. Theres also a dry-wipe board inside with a pen, eraser and double-sided calendar with a weather chart. Pencils, hand-pointer and even a school bell. It will help as a teaching aid for my mummy and I can see it being very useful in the future.
It’s great for explaining what I’m learning at school to my folks and my confidence has already grown using it. I’ve started to write my name and age on the board and practice my phonics. I like wiping the white board clean and its great for repeated use. My mummy likes that I can relay information about my classes to her through role-playing and writing on the set. It also helps my mummy to command my attention when doing school homework together through a play environment (plus the hand pointer helps).
My mummy is happy because its easy to set up and fold away after play and is easy to store. With carry case handles we can take it anywhere we want, even to Grandmas! I’ve been practicing what I learn at school on the dry erase board (watch our little video below to see) I’ve only been going to school for the past 2 months and already I’ve learnt so much! I’m trying to tell the time by using the clock with movable hands.
Anything that helps develop my imagination and social skills is good for us but the best bit is that it will help with my vocabulary development as I talk to my folks about my school days. You can pick up this school role play set online and prices seen advertise are from £25 – £32.
Watch our video and see what we thought!
looks like this went down really well with her! Great to see!
I love this! My daughter loves playing teachers so I’m off to have a detailed look at this.
oh this looks great and a decent size too, theres nothing worse than watching them try and practice their writing on a teeny workspace!
I’ve got a child starting school next September and this set looks fantastic. It looks like your little girl loves it too.
This looks fun I’ll definitely be adding one to my sons Amazon list. It looks a great size and ideal for encouraging children.
I am all for any toy that keeps a child’s brain active. I am also a fan of ones that keep their body active. 🙂
My daughter would have loved this when she was younger, looks great!
Oh wow my girls would LOVE this! They love to pretend to be teachers right now!
Ah this is so lovely – I had somethingbsinikar as a child. Role play games are the best, and so lovely to observe!
That looks like a lot of fun and great for kids that are about to or have just started school
This is really cute. I’m a huge fan of fun learning toys
This looks great fun and I love anything for the children if it helps and promotes role play 🙂
I love this! What a brilliant idea and good for helping encourage little ones to talk more about their school day in a fun way. Inspired.
I love the look of this school set. My kids would adore it for sure.
Looks like a very fun and practical school set! Great video too. x
I love toys like this, educational AND fun… I think it would keep children entertained for hours, as well as teaching them a lot! 🙂
Oh my gosh, I would have loved this as a child! I was ALWAYS playing schools with my siblings, cousins & friends!
This is a great idea – school can be really scary for some kids. I love the video.
I love that this is so educational and fun. Clearly she is enjoying herself.
Funny because when we were at school one team created a very similar product for our Young Enterprise project! It looks like a great tool for kids 🙂
This looks like such a great way to get kids excited (and more confident) about school! It seems like a really good way for parents to learn more about their child’s school day too! xx
What a great resource. I think mine would have loved it in the lead up to and when first settling in to school.
My youngest loves playing schools and we got her this last year for Christmas. She loves it and still plays with it now! It’s a great set.
What a wonderful Christmas gift this would make, #triedtested
I love this!! I used to love playing school as a child (maybe that’s why I’m now a teacher!) and I think that a toy like this that encourages a child to learn more about school before they start is a great idea.
