Nurturing our YouTube Channel

Dear Mummy, so far 2018 has seen us push our YouTube channel but we fear we’re neglecting the blog a little. So we wanted to bring you all up to speed with what was happening on the channel that is YouTube!

Dear Mummy Vlog

Flying high after our relatively successful first weekly vlog we are continuing and already on number four! We’re having so much fun collecting snippets of our days via video and then piecing them together on Saturday nights ready for editing and publishing on Sunday nights at 8pm.Weekly Vlog 2

I know my folks find it quite therapeutic to do and it’s nice to reflect on what happens to us during the week and chat about it. It makes quite a change from just using images to record in a scrapbook manner, or typing up our notes. I think we’re enjoying watching our videos more than our subscribers at the moment as we’re still a tiny fish in the ocean that is YouTube.

There’s a lot of work involved with making Weekly Vlogs, from the collection of clips, timings and thumbnails, to editing and voice overs. However it is satisfying when it all comes together. My mummy loves making home movies of me growing up and even though this wasn’t part of the plan when we started blogging we’re glad we made the leap. Actually we’re surprised how long it took us to build up the courage and put ourselves out there on YouTube.

So if you’re wondering why we haven’t been posting as much recently it’s because we are over there, on our channel trying to grow and flourish. But by no means have we forgetting our roots, here on our blog which we have nurtured for 4 years. We’ve got some interesting and fun posts coming up in the next couple of weeks, so stay posted.

Love Bella x

  1. It is difficult finding the time to do both and editing takes such a long time. I look forward to seeing more from both your blog and your channel this year!

  2. I can’t imagine myself making a youtube channel but I do enjoy seeing other bloggers have a go at it and just have fun making their videos. Love this latest video and I can’t wait to see more!

  3. Best of luck with the vlogging! 🙂 I’m so camera shy, and my children prefer not to be visible online, so it’s not something we’ve really branched into – but I know it can open so many doors. Have fun! 🙂

  4. I find it hard having a blog or 3. I find my time is split and I am now thinking of just focusing on one thing at a time. I would love to do vlogs but I freeze every time I am being filmed. I bet is is good fun 🙂
