Dear Mummy, I love caring for my pets and spend hours each week pretending to be a vet. Scruff-a-Luvs toys have been on my radar for sometime after reviewing them last year and falling in love with the play factor behind these soft plush toys.

Scruff-a-luvs are cute cuddly toys with a surprise element to them. They are inspired by the heart-warming social videos of homeless, scruffy pets being adopted, cared for and brought back to health and happiness.

They encourage children, like me, to take an active role in caring for animals. With lots of love and care I can reveal which Scruff-a-Luv I have rescued. I love grooming them and nursing them back to health.

A percentage of each Scruff-a-Luv Friends sold goes to the RSPCA too which is a great initiative and this partnership has so far raised an incredible £110,000! If you are unfamiliar with the RSPCA ask your Mummy or Daddy what it stands for and what they do. I’ll drop you a hint, the RSPCA are like the Police and Ambulance service for animals.

I was kindly sent brand new limited edition Jungle and Spring Babies Scruff-a-Luvs and Series 2 Friends. Thank you Moose Toys for sending them to me! All they needed was a proper wash to clean their matted fur and reveal the animal character. I had lots of fun gently washing them in water with shampoo and grooming them.

Afterwards I wrapped them up in towels to keep them warm and dried them with a hairdryer (make sure you give the a good shake or squeeze to get rid of as much water as possible as they can soak up a lot!) The more you dry and brush your Scruff-a-Luv, the fluffier they become. I also rested them on the radiator to dry out.

Scruff-A-Loves Jungle £19.99

I was very excited about these new characters. With a lion, parrot or monkey to rescue from the jungle it was truly a surprise to see which Scruff I had. In its matted ball of fur, wrapped in added vine leaves, you have no idea who is hiding! The balls feel hard, they don’t feel soft at all, so I was relieved when they unfolded in the water.

Once I unwrapped the vine leaves you can start to see who you have, then it’s time to wash, dry, and comb them to reveal their true beauty! We filled up a sink of water and also used a bit of shampoo to wash the fur. Check out my video below to see the reveal!

Thankfully my Scruff-A-Luv became soft and more plush like after the wash, however I spent ages drying the soft toy with a hairdryer. We’d recommend letting them dry out near a radiator. Each adorable character comes with their own adoption certificate and has patterned ears and a hair clip to help tame the fluff! I discovered a Lion!

Scruff-A-Luvs Spring Babies £9.99

The limited-edition Spring Babies feature a chick, a bunny and a lamb, perfect for this time of year! Again you don’t know which one you are going to get until you open up the boxes. This all adds to the surprise reveal. The packaging is super cute though and love the little pet carriers.

The babies fur isn’t as matted as the big ones and they don’t come in a ball like the bigger Scruff-A-Luvs do, but you can still give them a wash. Reveal your character by removing their dummy and giving them a good brush.

Their dummies are cute flowers which you twist to reveal your character. We discovered twin bunnies! Their pet carriers contained a comb, a collectors guide and an adoption certificate. The pet carriers are also stackable so you can show off your collectible collection.

Scruff-a-Luvs Babies Collectibles £9.99

These little baby balls of fur are lost and alone in the big bad world which is incredibly cute but also allowed me to imagine myself as a member of the RSPCA or a Vet looking after them. You remove their dummy to reveal who you’ve rescued, then comb out their tangles to reveal a little fluffy friend in need of a new home with you. With 21 characters to collect like a koala, kitten, walrus, bunny, bear cub and puppy! I couldn’t wait to open them.

Each baby comes with a pet carrier, collectors guide, adoption certificate, dummy, a comb to style them and a cute heart-shaped clip so you can keep your Scruff-a-Luvs looking stylish. There are also super rare ones to collect. All the baby Scruff-a-Luvs belong to different lands like Marble River, Rainbow Meadows, Tropical Fields and Starlight Secret Gardens.

Scruff-A-Luvs Friends Series £19.99

The new series features a dog, cat and a brand-new species of pony! Wash, dry, and brush their rainbow ombre fur to reveal your animal. You can also treat them to a styling session and add their special hair clip and collar with tag. I liked writing the name of my new pet on the tag and adoption certificate.

Each special Scruff-a-Luvs Friend comes with an adoption certificate for you to name your pet. I love their new ombre fur and theres a brand new super rare pony to find!
