Dear Mummy, I attended the Character Kidz Big Weekend recently, a three-day online toy showcase. I joined other toy influencers for a virtual event combining stories, videos, and TikTok coverage showcasing the best from Character Toys in 2020. It was great fun and a welcomed distraction from pandemic situation.

The virtual Character Kidz 2020 showcase was a revised edition of last year’s successful London event, as sadly the pandemic made it impossible to share in the fun in person.

However, that didn’t stop us as over 50 Kid YouTube channels took part over weekend and social media was flooded with coverage organised from the www.characterkidz.co.uk hub and Character Toys Instagram page.

I was sent a wonderful box of goodies to review over the summer and share across my social media channels. It was a busy couple of weeks for Dear Mummy Blog and we had a frenzy of content to produce! Check out what was in my box below.

Over 80 videos were created by kids across the event, all highlighting new toys such as Shimmer ‘N’ Sparkle InstaGlam, Laser Battle Hunters, Squeakee The Balloon Dog, Gotta Go Flamingo from Little Live Pets, and the wacky family game, PenSilly. I joined in to create my own YT video reviews!

During the #CharacterKidz weekend there were lots of fun activity hours and challenges taking place, like creating a balloon dog in celebration of the launch of Squeakee, and a Pokémon trivia quiz using Character’s latest Pokémon Trainer Trivia game. I had so much fun creating my InstaStories!

My main highlights were reviewing Squeakee the Balloon Dog and Gotta Go Flamingo which had me in stitches! (watch my videos to see what I mean!) and these toys are available at Argos now!

It was great getting the opportunity to review these toys before the Christmas rush and I loved making videos to support the toy industry.

The Character Kidz Virtual event was a massive success!
