Dear Mummy, usually you are behind the camera taking photos but recently we posed as a family for Stephanie Warne, a leading professional family photographer based in Portsmouth, Hampshire. This was the same weekend we went deep into the New Forest.

We had only chatted with Steph via email so when we met her in person at the edge of the woods she was warm and approachable. Her manner put us all at ease and my folks chatted with her like they had been friends for years. I felt comfortable posing for her and she also captured some shots without me knowing. Sometimes the more natural shots are the best.

She came well prepared, even for the rain and our surroundings and brought a blanket for my folks to sit on. We explored the tall trees trail and my folks felt happy for her to choose the backgrounds and location of the shots. We’ve include only a few of the photo shoot to show you the essence of her fabulous work!

A family photoshoot package is £120 and includes 5 high-resolution digital photographs which the costumer can choose from the client area of her website. Additional image prints start from £30 and digital images are £20 each. We couldn’t pick our top five shots as they were all amazing and we were really happy especially with some of the black and white versions which are beautiful printed out (web doesn’t do them justice!)

My folks were impressed about how Steph handled a crazy 4-year-old like me and she was always in control by being firm but friendly offering easy explanation for where she wanted us to be placed for the best light and optimal photos. It was lovely getting out in the fresh air and exploring the woods and half the time I forgot she was there following and taking photos.
We really do think she’s captured my cheekiness and anyone that knows me agrees! Steph only charges a small travel fee for sessions 20 miles or further from Portsmouth and within Hampshire there are some fabulous locations. From windswept beaches like West Wittering, grand castle ruins in Portchester and rural areas of the New Forest there is plenty of settings to choose from. Imagine a shoot within the lush Bluebells in Micheldever or the beautiful daffodils and rhododendrons of Exbury Gardens. We really are spoilt for choice in Hampshire.
So this New Year why not update your family photographs with an outdoor session with Stephanie Warne, they make a real change from the standard studio shots and are a real experience in themselves.
What do you think of our photo shoot photos?
Love Bella x
Disclosure: We were offered a free photo shoot with Stephanie Warne Photography, all opinions are our own.
what beautiful shots I love that your lo’s personality shines through
Brilliant photos! 🙂 Will have to look into hiring her services as a gift for a friend and her kids.
Ah, such beautiful shots – love the backdrop of the forest, very pretty! I am also a mummy who tends to be behind the camera rather than in front of it, too!
haha! what great and lovely photos. They made me smile. I love them. She is very talented. Lovely memories and photos to cherish
Those are lovely photos. It’s nice to have you’re mum be in front of the camera, isn’t it? I’m always behind the camera too 🙂
Lovely photos and I do prefer these outdoor photos to ones in a studio, it encourages you to look more relaxed and to capture a few more natural photos. Stephanie clearly knows her stuff, the best venues and it gives you a great chance for a beautiful country walk, what more could you want.
Thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids
These are such lovely photos – very natural and in great surroundings. #countrykids
Gorgeous photo’s. I am trying to get all mine in the same place at the same time for a photo shoot but it is proving tricky
Really lovely family photos – the woods make a lovely setting. Su #CountryKids
Gorgeous photos in a beautiful looking setting too. It’s nice when a photographer captures more relaxed photos. #CountryKids
Gorgeous photos. I’d love an outdoors family photo shoot. #countrykids
I love the photos you’ve featured. We had an autumn and spring photo shoot with a local photographer to us in Wales and I cherish the pictures we got from her. We’re considering a family shoot on our local beach here in Portugal at the start of the summer x
Such beautiful, and fun, family photos!
That’s a lovely collection of shots, no wonder you are so thrilled with them #CountryKids

Wow, your photos are so gorgeous. She sounds like such a friendly and good photographer. I wish she was closer to me, I really want to have a family photoshoot at some point this year. Anyone who can round up my wild 3 year old would be perfect. 🙂 xx
Those photos of you all are so beautiful and such a gorgeous location for them too. I love outdoor family photo shoots – they’re perfect for capturing natural fun photos. Looks like you enjoyed your photo shoot and had a fun time exploring the tall trees trail too. Definitely agree that you are spoilt for choice in Hampshire – it’s my home county and I wish I could spend more time exploring it! 🙂 #countrykids.
Ah they are really cute photos… It’s always nice getting pro shots done of the whole family! Instead of one of you always being behind the camera. x #CountryKids
