Dear Mummy, it’s true what they say… the older you get the quicker the years go by. Decades have passed since my folks first clapped eyes on each other on Millennium eve. 20 years later, a marriage and a baby (that’s me btw) and our family has gone from strength to strength.

2019 has been a right whirlwind as we now breeze into another decade. My arrival in 2013 was a flash of colour in the grey gloom of the daily routine and suddenly life had more clarity, direction and inspiration!

This blog, started in 2014, aided my folks through rough times and it’s amazing how therapeutic blogging can be. It seems like only yesterday I was lamenting on 2018. I can safely say that 2019 was a blast and with exciting projects on the horizon I can’t wait to dive into the unknown (cue singing from Frozen 2). I also have my mummy’s 40th and our first trip to Disney World Florida to look forward to in 2020.

2019 was very rewarding and my favourite highlight was winning an award for our blogging! I was over the moon (and slightly shocked) that I won a Brilliance in Blogging Award by BritMums (#BiBs2019) and appeared in our local paper! It was great to be recognised for our little bit of the internet by industry peers.

But it wasn’t all about the achievements in 2019… this year we also shared some happy family memories on the blog and had some great experiences. From riding on our first ever GWR sleeper train to camping under the stars, becoming pirates in Penzance to riding on my first rollercoaster at Thorpe Park, it really has been thrilling.
In fact we had so much snow in 2019 that I managed to build an igloo in our local park! Thankfully my folks managed to reschedule my birthday celebrations after the epic snow and I celebrated with a terrific
Greatest Showman themed birthday party which was fab.
I also managed to book a break to the New Forest with the help of
Red Letter Days for my mummy and it was lovely bonding and chilling out at the
Beaulieu Hotel during spring half term. In 2020 I’d love to take more mini-breaks with my folks like this!
A year to focus on my YouTube Channel – Dear Mummy Blog and I’ve had the opportunity to work with some great brands including McDonalds, MSC Cruises as well as some massive toy companies. It’s been great fun and another fab way to show you guys what I’ve been up to. I can’t believe I filmed 88 videos!
I also managed to squeeze in 31 toy reviews and am so grateful to get the opportunity to test out new toys ahead of release. In 2019 I was invited to press events aimed at kids and I really enjoyed
Character Kidz in London. It was great to hang out with other top UK Kid YouTubers and see some brand new toys.
My folks cut back on our festival activity during the summer, however I still visited the awesome
Camp Bestival and
Larmer Tree Festival while enjoying a mini heatwave. In 2020 I’d like to get back onto the festival circuit and visit some more.
I also joined in with
Wild Night Out in June and slept under the stars, toasted marshmallows and shared stories around the camp fire. It was great to reconnect with nature and meet new friends.
Camping has always been one of my highlights of the summer.
As I grow older, I’m taking a more independent role with my YouTube channel, coming up with creative ideas and steering it where I want it to go. 2020 will see me continue to blog about things I love and I can’t wait until I’m old enough to take the reins away from my mummy completely and start writing independently.
In 2019 I worked really hard to produce quality reviews for my Youtube Channel. I’m starting to gain momentum with over 1 Million views and now have just over 3,000 subscribers on Dear Mummy Blog.
I’m hoping to focus more on video content in 2020, not just toy reviews but some fun kids challenges too – so stay tuned!
But my blog will always be our baby, so I’m hoping to write more with the help of my folks in 2020 and get back to my roots, sharing days out and recommendations for others. My folks and I want to thank all of our friends, blog readers and commenters for your support over the past year, it really is appreciated.
What are your goals for 2020? Let us know in the comments. I’d love to reach 5k subscribers on YouTube, travel somewhere new and learn to read music!

Oh my word, you will have so much fun on your first trip to Disneyworld, it truly is magical! If you’re staying on site I highly recommend an afternoon nap somedays so the kids will be able to stay up late for fireworks and loads of the food portions are huge and sharable. Starbucks in the parks all have free iced water 🙂
Thanks for the tips! Going to need that iced water I think! x
